Downtown Meditation is comprised of individuals who come together to practice and study Insight Meditation. The heart of Insight Meditation is the practice of mindfulness, as explicated in the Buddha’s teaching on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness. Downtown Meditation seeks to offer a refuge, a place for for developing tranquility and insight in New York City. Our classes, courses, and retreats provide an opportunity to cultivate meditation practice and develop the skillful qualities that enable us to live in a more joyful and compassionate manner.
