Paul Weinfield
Paul is a guiding teacher of Downtown Meditation. He has been practicing Buddhist meditation since 1995 and Insight Meditation since 2004. Paul is a musician, writer, and former professor of Religion and Philosophy at Columbia University. He has been teaching at Downtown Meditation since 2008.
Kristine Marx
Kristine is a guiding teacher of Downtown Meditation. She has been practicing Insight Meditation since 2006. She started teaching meditation in Philadelphia to university students in 2010 and has been teaching at Downtown Meditation since 2014. In addition to practicing meditation, Kristine is a visual artist and has taught at colleges and universities in New York and Philadelphia.
Peter Doobinin
Peter founded Downtown Meditation in 2002. He is currently the guiding teacher of Berlin Dharma in Berlin, Germany. He is also a co-founder of New York Insight Meditation Center. Peter has been teaching the dharma for the past twenty years. Over the years, he has taught at many venues including the New York City public schools. He's the author of The Skill of Living. At Downtown Meditation, Peter teaches our residential retreats.
Debra Flics
Debra has been practicing Insight Meditation since the mid-1990’s and began teaching at Downtown Meditation in 2006. She has also taught at New York Insight Meditation Center where she served on the Teachers Council for many years. In addition to teaching meditation, Debra is a psychotherapist in private practice in New York City. Her article What Meditation Can't Cure was published in Buddhadharma: The Practitioner’s Quarterly and can be found online at Lion's Roar.
